For as long as I can remember I've loved and appreciated ads more than anyone I know (even more than those posers on Mad Men and the guy who created them). This blog is here to ignite the readers passion for the art of the ad from print to televison, and to save the ad from Tivo, channel surfing and all the other lovely ways we fight to avoid these less loved annoyances....and just about everything else were a SUCKA for these days
So when an ad come out directed by Terry Richardson, and features Kate Moss, a blog about advertising would most likely be poochin it if it were not to post it. Thats not then to say that its a good ad, cause personally I think this kinda sucks. It’s a clothing ad for MANGO, and it if anything takes the focus off the clothing. Kate Moss isn’t on her game, she doesn’t look that great and yeahh… what else does she have? The song is shit, boring, the only part I liked was the end cause it was kinda a surprise and the elevator ride has a great view.
EHHH, good way to come back.

Is it common knowledge that Steve Nash and Owen Wilson are friends? Is that what we are supposed to get from Wilson here? He’s got it right though Steve Nash does have a special quality to it. Steve really lives up to it, two time NBA MVP and one of the best point guards to play. He’s got kinda a funny hair cut for an athlete not that it matters just interesting. I really wonder how this documentary is going to go. I really hope they do a good job with it. Good Canadian boy as my man Donny would say.

This is almost guerrilla advertising. This happened last year around this time. Rona saw the opportunity to post an an about how they reuse and recycle paint. They hung their banner under Apple’s multi colored dripping ipod nanos. A very creative and clever ad as well. As it turns out Apple was not too happy, though my bet is in reality is it brought tons of attention to both ads. “Nous recuperons les restes de peinture,” the tagline says, which translates to: “We collect leftover paint”. There was no room to post their banner so in the middle of the night Rona took some of those things used to lift window washers and hung it up there. Props Rona.

Hilarious piece of advertising. Straight Canadian too. We got a boss, the acting is pretty terrible but not terrible that the commercial looks sketchy just enough to be funny. The guy has his fat face with a stupid smile. Keeps it light and the daughter at the end is just gorgeous and fat face man kills the little stutter. I remember Fallsview over the other Casinos. That’s where I wanna hit.
DECCEENTT…. I also know the dude who made the ad, which is not at all the reason this is up, I liked the ad before I knew he made this.
This is a sweeet idea for a coffee shop. Called commonwealth, if ya didn’t see the sign in the video. Cool lookin place, I appreciate that in a restaurant. I’m so down with this, Starbucks you know its a franchise it feel like a franchise. This is a small coffee shop but has some franchise opportunities within it. Hence I think why this video was made. I’m actually applying to work at Starbucks right now. But that coffee looks damn good, and I’d like to try some. Problems with this video. Made it too serious. Also bad call using a balding man, its kinda scary and the roster is ugly also. PUT GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE IN ADS IT HELPS.

I’m sure everyone’s been seeing this ad on TV lately its been catchin up on some well deserved airtime. This is an extended version of the one of TV, I actually kinda like the shortened TV version better. This commercial also ads a new song to my collection, really catchy, up beat, perc for the summer. Summer beer, summer song, just a real feel good ad. Song is “Golden Age” by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

Today is the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s death. Here’s a little commercial using a parody the Marley’s Jammin. Not the best tribute commercial I’ll toss another commercial up as a tribute but I think this commercials is actually pretty good. It kept me smiling the whole time. I have zero relation to the product so I’m not the best judge. I don’t know how much I’d like the commercial though if it kept interrupting my shows. I feel like I’d hate the real song and I’d never want that.
